vendetta of decayed watery ghosts, a call from the grave — La Vita di Rei

poetry ☆

poetry ☆

here lie hidden treasures of washed-up

bone, calcium, and cartilage amongst

sweeping,

pushing,

swirling clear liquor miraged against a robin’s egg sky.

frothing beauty that cannot be bottled, cannot be captured...

of pure wild danger in depths

threatening a pearlescent dreamed surface reflection.

manifest destiny of Atlantis, final bosses of the dame du lác.

brought with a hunger, manmade, for riches in the blue,

and a gilded ticket of nautical vessels.

eons of shattered shell mosaiced into an invaluable image.

for whom have these rocks touched?

what seas of Boston teas have these corpses sunk through to land

here? upon a flat catacomb,

slicing feet from far beyond the grave

in a final act of vendetta for waters

stained with engine fuel?

Rei is an artist of all kinds who enjoys drawing, writing, and daydreaming the most. She resides in a small seaside town and indulges in excellent coffees, books, and music to throw her into creative sessions amongst the vases of flowers and lace drapery in her apartment. You can find her anywhere from car races to saving drowning bees.
