Mary/Eve — L.C. Beatley

Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
The men, they come.
Those you endowed with strength greater than ours,
Weapons between their thighs.
And I,
Of those your second thought,
Made from rib and spit
To give in and of,
To bear the weight of he who bares down on me
Until my ribs break.
Until thy will is done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
